Dr. Andrew Yacoub is a dedicated veterinarian whose veterinary career has been defined by a lifelong commitment to service, compassion, and excellence. Before pursuing veterinary medicine, he proudly served as an Army Paramedic, where he further developed the discipline, resilience, and calm leadership that continue to shape his approach to patient care today. His military service instilled in him the importance of precision, teamwork, and the composure to handle highly intensive pressure situations whenever they present themselves.

Dr. Andrew earned his veterinary degree through the collaborative Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program between St. George’s University College of Veterinary Medicine and Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

His passion for veterinary medicine began long before veterinary school. As an only child until the age of eight, his first and closest companion was his family dog. That special bond sparked a lifelong desire to care for animals and serve as a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Today, he considers it a privilege to strengthen the human-animal bond by helping pets live healthier, happier lives while supporting the people who love them.

Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Andrew has completed multiple years of advanced mentorship and hands-on training alongside respected specialists in surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and shelter medicine. This broad clinical experience allows him to confidently manage a wide range of medical and surgical cases while providing thoughtful, individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient. He believes that learning never stops and is passionate about bringing the latest advances in veterinary medicine to the patients he serves.

Dr. Andrew believes exceptional veterinary medicine is built on more than clinical expertise. He values open communication, trust, and collaboration with pet owners, recognizing that informed pet owners are essential partners in achieving the best possible outcomes. Whether guiding families through preventive care, managing complex medical conditions, or navigating difficult decisions, he strives to ensure every client feels heard, supported, and confident throughout their pet’s journey.

Newport Center Animal Hospital stood out to Dr. Andrew because of its reputation for medical excellence, collaborative team environment, and unwavering dedication to compassionate, patient-centered care. He is honored to serve the Newport Beach/Corona Del Mar community in his role as medical director and is excited to contribute his skills to help maintain the non-corporate independent hometown status that Newport Center Animal Hospital continues to have.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Andrew enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, whether it’s at church or at the beach. His favorite sports to play include football, tennis, pickleball, basketball, and volleyball. Occasionally he will go kayaking at La Jolla to go see the Sea Lions with his two sisters Sandy and Jovanna.

Everyday, Dr. Andrew looks forward to serving others and seeks to deliver care with integrity, empathy, and respect. He looks forward to building lasting relationships with clients and becoming a trusted partner in helping their pets enjoy long, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
